Program Overview

The Certification in Treating Racial Trauma is completed in three levels:


Level 1: Foundational Course (Self-Paced)

Start with a five-module, self-paced course that introduces the core concepts of racial trauma. Clinicians learn how systemic racism, microaggressions, and historical oppression influence psychological health and develop skills for validating racialized experiences in therapy. The course provides evidence-based strategies and culturally attuned interventions that can be applied immediately in clinical practice.Options for Completion:

Level 2: Live Training Series with Dr. Monnica Williams

Cost: $300 | Half-Day Online Training via ZoomDeepen your learning in an interactive session led by Dr. Williams. This live training introduces the UnREST Protocol, a culturally informed framework for treating racial trauma. Participants explore advanced strategies, engage in case consultations, and connect with a community of clinicians committed to equity in mental health.Available Dates: September 19, December 1, March 2 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EST)


Level 3: Clinical Supervision (12-Week Cohort)

Cost: $1,200 | Weekly Live Group SessionsThe supervision series supports participants in integrating racial trauma treatment into everyday clinical work. Small group cohorts (8–10 participants) meet weekly with certified experts to review cases, refine therapeutic techniques, and build cultural humility. This stage provides personalized feedback, peer support, and guidance tailored to each clinician’s practice setting and client population.By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Define racial trauma and differentiate it from other trauma types.

  • Identify symptoms and presentations across diverse populations.

  • Apply culturally responsive assessment tools and therapeutic strategies.

  • Implement the UnREST Protocol to guide treatment.

  • Foster safety, empowerment, and healing for BIPOC clients.

  • Integrate race-informed practices into daily clinical work.
